In those times, it is challenging to maintain a good self-esteem. That’s why I bring you this article where I will give you seven tips to keep a good self-esteem. These tips must always be kept to build your best version.
Stop your critical self, this voice that always looks for the ‘buts’. That voice, which tells you are not capable of doing it, people will reject you, people will think that you are… Tell this voice that it is enough and try to enter its play challenging him with positivity and thoughts against what he tells you. Tell him that you are capable of doing it and that you do it for yourself and not for the recognition of people. You want to be good for yourself without expecting anything from others.
Note your positive points and what you appreciate about yourself. You will discover things that you did not know you were good, things that you are unique in and that there is nobody else. It is usually easier to see the bad in you even you try to correct bad things, but we forget to enhance our good things. These difficult things for us to see and that you value about yourself. Write it down, so you can review it in difficult times.
Replace perfectionism, learn that perfection does not exist and we each have our weakness. Do not keep this hope that things will go perfect because it will not happen. You don’t have to wait to get things done at the perfect time, just do it when you feel it. Remember that being perfect is subjective.
Every mistake or failure is an experience to learn and overcome. You are going to fail sometime so what? It’s part of life. You learn from what have failed and self-criticize with the sole objective of improving yourself and having that constant progress without committing the same mistakes of the past.
Try new things, new experiences. The fear of doing new things will always be there. I am a restless ass and behind new experiences incredible nerves enter me. But I have learned that these nerves are the emotion of trying something new that you don’t know will happen. And after that first experience, you feel fulfilled. You have taken one more step towards steady progress. Don’t live with that fear, go outside to try new things.
Do not compare yourself with others, as I said in point 2, each one is different and has different things. You have to go your own way. You can look at people to learn from them and progress, but never in competition mode.
Spend time with positive people, those people who support you and will make you go further. Not with those toxic people who are always in their comfort zone. Stay away from those toxic people who absorb too much energy from you.
