I have become one of the most productive consultants in the place. I am able to work on several key projects for my client at the same time helping production support and users’ questions. In addition to that, I’m also managing my personal projects like my blog, my new theatre play and a new personal project that you’ll know more details during next months.
All of this are possible because I have a clear goal and ask myself these questions every day to remain focus and increase my productivity.
Question 1. What is the most important task today and why?
When you are working on several projects or even one, it is important to have a clear roadmap and an organisation to reach your goals. After that, you can have a lot of tasks to get that. It is important to know what tasks you have to do today to progress. In addition, you must know why this task is important. The vision is important.
Question 2. What am I doing that someone else could do?
Delegate, delegate and delegate. If I am able to work on many projects, it is because I learn to delegate task and trust people to do that. I also have the global vision; I know where I want to go. Moreover, I’ve been in that place to know how to do the task and know what are the challenges that they can find. It is important to delegate this task to someone else that can do it, so you can focus in more complex things or even have more free time to focus in other projects.
One of my mentors recently told me: people buy time by hiring people to do the job for them.
Question 3. What project will have the most impact?
Among all project that I have, I have to know which one has the most impact. The impact will depend on your vision and your why. It can be an impact for your business, for your family/friends, for others. Depending on your activity you should measure this impact accordingly.
Question 4. If I am being distracted, what can I do to prevent this from happening?
I know today that the technology/cell phone is my distraction. So, whenever I want to be focus during some time, I turn off my phone to avoid distraction. When I was younger, I preferred to go to to the library to study because I knew that at home, I had any kind of distraction. You have to find what can cause your distraction and then see what actions you can do to prevent this.
Question 5: What habits could I adapt today to feel more energized?
I know, if I want to go further with my rhythm of life to reach all my goals, I have to be very disciplined. Also, I need a very good diet, workout and exercises are fundamentals, and finally having a good sleep.
Sometimes it can be meditations, yoga or even go for a massage.
Times with your family, partner or children can be also a boost.
